Brent Perry is a leader in energy solutions for the commercial marine and industrial sectors. Brent has personally been involved in most of the hybrid and electric ferry projects on the water today.
A thought leader for the industries he works in, Brent speaks at numerous climate and energy conferences including: United Nations COP21, ENOVA, and ZERO and is a Special Adviser to the Chinese Government for Energy Policy.
Chief Technical Officer
Chris Kruger is responsible for PBES’ technology strategy and implementation. Chris possesses a unique ability to understand energy storage from the design side as well as the end user side and has a reputation for integrity of character and quality of delivered product. As the technology leader at PBES develops energy storage solutions that exceed customer expectations.
Chief Financial Officer
Paul Hughes has extensive expertise within the renewable energy, alternative fuels and biochemical sector. His career includes senior management roles in both start-ups and established energy companies. Paul has co-founded energy companies in Europe and North America, has led an energy company from start-up through to IPO.
Geoff Davenport has 40 years of experience in senior sales and strategic leadership roles including IBM, BCTel and Alpha Technologies. His unique combination of experience and demonstrated ability to build teams, combined with a passion for renewable energy brings additional strength and focus to building PBES’ advanced energy storage business.

Tim Keast comes to PBES with 10 years of experience in lean manufacturing and supply chain management. Combined with a broad engineering and technology background he challenges people to think differently to solve complex problems with simple solutions.

Grant Brown is a passionate environmentalist, driven by a need to “leave it better than he found it”. This drive, combined with a capacity to understand power solutions of all types, gives him the ability to explain the benefits of energy storage and inspire others to become a part of the change towards clean energy.

Brian Grison has spent his entire working life in the marine industry – specializing in Marine Technology and Marine Design Management. He has commissioned and serviced the ESS components of a wide range of hybrid installations including ferries, port cranes and tugboats.

Trevor Small is responsible for defining and executing sales strategies across all customer, geographic and product segments. Focussed on establishing and managing strategic relationships with leading integrator, shipyards, naval architects, and fleet owners, Trevor’s skill lies in helping them find the optimal solution to meet their needs.

Andrew Eydt is a solutions focussed engineer with experience managing high performing teams in engineering and sales. With his experience in customer facing roles deploying industrial power generation systems, Andrew brings practical skills, knowledge and business acumen to the PBES engineering team.

Søren Danig is educated as Master Marine from A P Moller – Maersk and holds an engineer education equaling Bachelor level from the Technical University of Denmark. Soren has worked on the Helsingør – Helsingborg crossing before he was promoted to Regional Manager in Scandlines. Søren is recognized as a person with high integrity who believes in the value of building business partnerships.
VP Business Solutions
Espen Kristiansen brings decades of experience in the ferry industry and has worked with some of the largest hybrid and electric vessels ever produced. In his previous position as Vice President of Procurement with Scandlines Danmark A/S, his work includes four large ferries on the Rødby-Putgarden route, including Princesse Benedickte, the world’s largest hybrid ferry.

Marius started out as a boat builder, and transitioned to designing and managing the technical installation of all electrical systems in the vessels. In 2015 he was responsible for developing and building the first electrical fishing vessel, Selfa Arctic’s “Karoline”.

Silvie Votrubova has spent the last 8 years in the clean technology sector, spending the last 4 using her experience in digital and content marketing to promote and educate the industrial industry on hybrid and electric solutions. A passion for mountains and the ocean drives her commitment to work with innovative and sustainable technology.

Christina Ianssen is an MSc in International Business & Politics. Her previous work as project manager, included a paper on battery and hydrogen powered fast ferries. Christina works for PBES as she is passionate about the environment, and is a strong believer in that new technology is the key to tackle climate change

Tom Orlowski has over 25 years of experience building and leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams around the world. With a background of computer engineering, he has been the architect of many products in the areas of telecommunications, digital television, and SCADA. Tom brings his passion for excellence and holistic engineering design to the leadership of the PBES engineering team.

Gogi is senior software engineer with over 25 years of experience defining, designing and deploying the systems in the field of telecommunications and industrial automation.

Jeff Fieldhouse is an electronics engineer with 15 years of experience in firmware/software development. He previously worked at Xantrex/Schneider Electric for 13 years as a firmware engineer and program manager, working on new product development for solar based inverters or charge controllers.

Chao Jin has a bachelor degree in mechatronics from Zhejiang University in China and a master degree in mechanical engineering at UBC. Through that experience she discovered her passion for battery systems design and moved on to the systems engineering group.

Melanie Arabsky Ledger has a background in business systems, project management and business continuity, and holds an Associate degree in Computer Information Systems and an Advanced Project Management Certification. She has a passion for process and project delivery and living the motto: ORDO AB CHAO (“Order out of chaos”).
Melody Waterberg draws on more than a decade of experience working with businesses in a variety of sectors. Inspired by the vision and by the passion of the PBES team, she left her accounting practice to manage the accounting department at PBES.
